So what software version is in your bug?

....cause they are iffy. I love my two Gold Bugs and I can hunt in fields and get as deep as any detector I have ever used. It takes a trained ear to hear them deepies but...it seems to me on this latest version the deepest hits are just a touch louder to help hear them.....certainly they are a bit louder and more clear than my first SE.
I can keep up with any T2 or F75 version and not miss a thing.
I ordered a SEF 10x12 for my SE tonight for field hunting....so I am set....I have the 11", 5" stock, 10" concentric and the SEF so this will do everything I need in my area. I sold off most of my stuff and only kept a Naughty IIB and my Bugs. With these two machines there isn't a place or style I can't hunt...from salt beaches to gold country and everything and every scenario in between.

From What everyone is saying It should read 1, 2.9 or a three. So I checked mine which I got before the cabellas models were fully released and It reads a 2 not 1 not 2.9 but a 2. So just What do I have?
I got it Christmas last year and was impressed with it from the start. If the first 4 of the serial # is the date mine is 1109, I paid for it on the 12th of Dec, seems pretty fast!!
Can any one shed some light on this ???
Please help ????

Your the first with a 2. Does it have VCO audio in disc?

No VCO in dics mode but seems to have it in all metal!! Looks Like azsh07's Cabellas model is the same, kinda threw me off a bit and I didnt know what I had but we are now on the same page as far a Cabellas models. I kinda like the non Vco as I am deaf in one ear and it helps me hear and if I need more Info I just switch to all metal. Either way they are great little machines for the $$$ range their in.

Have a Question? Got my Gold Bug Pro the about 8 days ago love it been out about 6 times just getting a feel for it.

It came in a Brown box. Fisher with a white strip that said gold bug pro is this normal seen were the SE came in a picture display box?

Also the Arm rest was attached to the rod with the foam already on it.

Is their a warranty card for this or not you have to fill out if so none was in their.

tested 3 version

Also were the cable goes in the coil the round wrap on the cable was split in half can slid it up the cable.

New to this just making sure i didn't get one that was repaired or sent back.

Any Help

Thanks Bill

2.9 and would buy another for a backup. Mine was made in May and sent back for calibration in July. While I dont hunt for nuggets it is a clad killer with 75.00 in clad in 2 months. Ordered 6"HF with clad for XT 705

My brain must not be working ? I hold the GB + or the GB - button, then turn the power on, and first it says Gold and then it says what looks like 6u9. I don't see this 2.9 or 3.0? SN # 10104681 inside battery door. I traded my Xterra 70 for the GBSE. It only air tests a silver quarter at 5-6 inches at max gain in all metal with 5 inch coil, without gb ing it, is that about right or? It did beep at 1/2 inch on a gram of gold dust/flakes in a vial. I acquired the larger coil too.
Thanks.

Try setting the detector to all metal first. Turn off. Depress gb button and hold. Turn on.

Doing the firmware check procedure mentioned above, mine says GOLD and then 6u9,nothing about 2.9 or a 3.0.With Disc mode selected, then Hold down the GG button, it says Gold, then 6u9, then a 1 appears. No matter what I do , all metal or disc select, holding down the GB + or - buttons or both at once, the 2.9 or 3.0 never shows up? So, what depth can I expect on a silver quarter on the 5 inch coil in air without GB? I can only run the machine about 1/2 Gain due to electrical interference at home, depth on 1964 silver quarter, 11 inch coil , approx 7 inches which seems pretty lousy?
Thanks,

-Tom V.
