So there I was, in the deep woods, digging up my target, when I was startled by a loud sound...

 You got it Mr Fowler

Drop Bear: Koala type bears that drop from the trees to unsuspecting tourists

Hoop Snake: Snake found on desert dunes (and other areas) renowned for putting its tail into its mouth and rolling down the sand dunes chasing people

Sorry.... couldn't resist. Of course these are all just for laughs

We do have many deadly snakes in Australia - I have been told that we have 9 of the world's Top 10 deadliest snakes in the world! Also gotta watch out for venomous funnelweb spiders. But the most common thing are the bloody mosquitoes! One of the most important tools in or MD bag is the insect repellent...

Cheers
Snoopy

9 ot of the 10 most deadliest snakes, freakin jelly fish the size of my fingernail that can kill you, deadly spiders, crocs....there's no escape where ever you go !

What I hate is when you are deep in the woods and feel something wet/warm on the back of your leg. I've had two dogs on different occasions this past year do that to me and I jumped about ten feet in the air. My first instinct is that it's a rabid coon or something going for my leg. That's why I don't like headphones that block out too much sound around me. I now use those Sony Studio Phones ($20 at Walmart) and not only can I hear stuff around me better but they are also the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned. The audio is top notch on my Sovereign. These headphones are mid sized, hence why they call them Studio Phones I guess.

Some of my friends, who are woods savvy and otherwise reliable, claim to have had interactions with Big Foot. Not necessarily seeing one but things like huge boulders, to big for a man to sling, landing in the water where they were fishing, at night. jim

don't forget those "nasty" 'canes that like to "amble" on through from time to time!
(hot damn!)

Another good reason to always have a hunting partner. Also, I prefer to hunt in the winter, because you don't have the bug and snake problem.
