:smoke:Some Interesting Comparison Data GTI 2500 + ACE 150 + ACE 250 + AT Pro International:smoke:

That is an excellent chart!
Seems to me that the AT Pro and the GTI run neck and neck,

So the real question boils down to ......

What's more important to the end user? Waterproof or Imaging?

If Garrett would come out with a waterproof GTI it would rock bigtime!!

Willy,The ground here in Oregon is volcanic hot hot stuff and can be a challenge to my 2500, I cant see your area being much worse....even though I can manage it.I use manual ground balance alot because it is more stable than auto track system, and a DD coil on the 2500 helps also but is missing the beloved Imaging. Cant wait to slap the new DD on her.

For all your time, and there must have been a lot of time put into this...
Apples to apples would have been,2500 vs 2500 and AT Pro vs AT Pro....
I can use the All Metal mode in places and wish you guys with bad ground, had better ground.

John, I was wondering, why only 7/8 power on the AT Pro ??? EMI ???
I know the only dirt that you have seen,, is in a flower pot.

Many thanks.

Having used almost every modern Garrett made in my mind a good truthful test and again your tests may differ due to minerlization, area, and users ability, but all in all nice job of testing....

John,,,that's still good, 7/8 power inside, I have used some that could not go that high on sens. out side.
Thanks again.

Alan, I'm up here in B.C.. so not that far away from you. The problems with the GTI AM mode aren't universal here. It's just the specific areas that I hunt. These ares, besides being 'hot' are wildly inconsistent. Full of hotrocks (pea size to car size) and extremely variable. When the ground can change at almost every sweep, manual GB becomes a rather pointless exercise. I had a GTI 2500 w. the 5x10 DD and it was definitely NOT an enjoyable experience using it. In many places I couldn't bring the stock coil within 5-6" of the ground without it overloading. This also occurred with the GTI 1500 and 2000, so it wasn't the detector per se. The GTI 2500 was a new, black spider coil design, so should have had the 'mineral'. About the best VLF detector for these conditions has been an MXT running at full SAT and ground tracking on. I'd love to see Garrett come out with a GTI that had a SAT that had extreme variability as well as aggressive ground tracking. Also, if they could find a way to improve sensitivity with the DD coil mounted. That, and incorporate the GTP sizing function. ..Willy.

Hey Willy...yeh the MXT has the most aggressive grd tracking system I've ever seen. Beat the pants off my 2500 in California couple hunts with my buds. Sounds like very bad ground up there...like Pulse Induction ground.

You know what? it drives the PI's nuts too. Some areas are better than others though. Just luck of the draw. ..Willy. BTW. I was nugget hunting.
