Small coils available...

and why I deleted your post..... after reading Bill's response, I wish I had left your post up. That way people could figure out what events took place and why Bill said what he said. I guess when I saw your comments first, I simply deleted them. Let me explain why......
This forum is for sharing information about the X-Terra lineup. We don't have a lot of rules. Just be polite and truthful. Some people generously post their "hands-on" experience while others come here to read what those using the X-Terra have to share. Unfortunately, there is an occasional post (albiet rare) when someone makes uneducated comments based on personal bias, opposed to personal experience. Those folks usually only stop by when they are wanting to stir something up. I will delete X-Terra posts that include derogatory remarks about a product they have never used, or even seen. If someone doesn't have the small X-Terra coil, for example, I don't need to read how they think it is overpriced simply because it costs more than one for another make or model. Frankly, we have little concept of the R&D $$$ that goes into making a new coil. For you to say that greed dictates Minelab's price is ridiculous. Particularly when you compare it to the price of nearly every other manufacturer's small coils. Not all, but most. The X-Terra, unlike some other makes and models, can't simply use coils that were designed for, and are being used on previous models of detectors. e.g. Fisher F4, Whites MXT, M6, XLT etc. In addition, no other manufacturer makes a single frequency detector that has the ability to use 3 different frequencies of coils. No other manufacturer makes 8 coil choices for a single frequency detector. And no other single frequency detector has a microchip embedded in the coil, which communicates to the control housing via a data link.

one last comment...... This forum is different than some. If you post on this forum and on another website as well, you will not automatically be banned. If you disagree with the moderator here, you will not be automatically banned. All I ask is to have respect for others and make posts based on fact. Not doing those two things may result in your post being deleted. But even then, you will not likely be banned.
Thanks.

What's the big deal with the $140 price of the 6"coil? It's not like you will have to get another one next week. I just ordered one from David at Dixie, and I'm glad to get it. I'll find $140 worth of goodies in trashy areas I've been hunting with a bigger coil in a couple of hours. Get over it! If you're pro F75, good for you. I hope you make many good finds with it.

Forgot to thank you.

You provided the info I needed, I am very aware of the 7.5 beeing just as good, differnt thing for differnt needs.

So I opted for the DD in my tremendous trash in my plowed park. Imagine that. Screwcaps at 8" and 1800 coins at 2"

With that said...

BT, can you show even smaller nuggets now ??? Man you will need a camera made for laboratory use...

Regards.
