They are en route and be available mid-week. We will have both 7kHz and 18.75 kHz 6" coils. These little coils are waterproof.
Call 800-898-6673 to order, the price is $139.97.

But sometimes people wait only to be disapointed.

ID EXcel for instance but others too...

Keep up the good work Minelab, Terra series will not be abandoned soon I am sure.

I've been waiting for my 5x10 coil now for quite some time. I'm just wondering if the 6" 18.75 might be a better coil than the elliptical. Any of the testers have an opion on this.
Thanks, Steve

Maybe depending on what You will use it for but...

I own the elliptical and would rather have the 6", if the 6" would have been available all the time I dont think i would have owned the elliptical.

You may think it over..

I use small coils for their separation characteristics. I use larger coils for their depth of detection and the size of the swath. Both coils that you mention are 18.75 kHz, DD coils. So, there will be similarities in their manner of recognizing ferrous/non-ferrous targets. Honestly, I didn't find an appreciable difference in the depth between the elliptical and the 6-inch DD. It wasn't that I was disappointed in the elliptical. I am just very impressed with the depth capabilities of the new 6-inch. In my opinion, if you are hunting a wide open area with little trash, the elliptical would be the better choice based on the size of the footprint. If you are hunting in a trashy park environment, I'd suggest the small coil would be a better choice, due to it's smaller footprint and inherit separation characteristics. JMHO Randy

Hi Digger.

What coil would you buy first of the two if you where looking for everything above iron, hammered, gold Jewelry and dimes dollars.

I was thinking the concentric but I am not sure after reading your fabulous reviews, seems the DD got the better reviews.

PS, dont forget the elliptical isnt waterproof and the 6" coils looks sturdy as a a rock aswell as beeing waterproof. I am ( now ) glad mr Minelab took the time to do this very right... :clapping:

posted earlier about the differences between the 6" and elliptical coils. Not long after my post I had received notification from Kellyco on shipment of my elliptical coil. If known I might of asked them to ship the 6" instead since I waited so long. Oh well just might have to order the 6" after I read some more reviews from the new owners. I'm sure there will be alot of posting when the new coils get out there. Good luck to all who receive them and will be waiting for your reviews.

I try to not give advice. We each have our own techniques, habits and soil conditions. But, I'm willing to share my "opinions" based on my sites and hunting style. My soil here is considered mild to moderate, by ground phase standards. As I've stated before, DD coils are not typically my first choice. But all things considered, I prefer the DD at 18.75 for yards, parks and trashy areas, compared to the 7.5 kHz concentric. It is difficult to explain the "benefits" of the DD coil without making it sound like the concentric is a lesser coil. It is not a lesser coil. I just happened to find more with the DD (during the 4 months of testing them) than I did with the concentric. Anyone who has a choice of coils for their detector knows that you develop a bias for the one that produces the most. Both are good and each responded well to both high conductive targets and lower conductive targets. But I felt I could obtain better target separation with the DD.

If the area I was going to hunt was littered with trash, I would chose the DD at 18.75. On the other hand, if I were hunting a more "wide-open" area, I would hook up the concentric at 7.5. It seems to produce a larger "footprint", even though the physical size is exactly the same. One thing I found myself doing with both coils, when getting into a trashy area, was to lower the sensitivity from my usual "maxed out setting" and on occassion, ran the GB a couple points in the negative. Doing these two things seemed to make them "less hot" and allowed me to really narrow down the targets. "Less hot" may result in less depth. But separation, not depth, is the reason I would choose a small coil in the first place. HH Randy

My best finds have come using the 18.75kHz smaller coils.

Even a cAnnon shot from 14"+ and small silver coins from 7-9".Jerry.
Knowing you are a Explorer man JBM, you have to tell more sir.

This is very true infact I have owned and used Explorers from day one of their issue.

Having said that I try many backups and at the moment Iam using the X70.

I have to be strong willed to leave the SE at home but I have done so for 3 months.

I prefer the DD type coils but the 10" does not help the detector balance wise.

The Smaller coils seem to be better for me personally and the bonus is that at my age its 4 hours with the SE or six hours with the X-Terra 70.

Here are the pictures of the 3 items that I mentioned earlier in the thread.

This is a underated detector inland by far to many detectorists who really should give themselves time to bond with the machine.Jerry.

which any dealer may sell the coils. My guess is that the street price will be within $10USD of what I paid for the small coil for the Fisher Edge. So did I feed Fisher's greedy mouth?

What about the Sunray CS-5 at $189.95 for the Fisher Edge? Or say a Coiltek Joey Coil at $199USD. You sure do hear major complaining about the price of those Joey Coils all the time.....NOT!!!

But I can assure you I would not feed the greed at $934USD for a product that repeatedly has quality control issues, especially with it's coils. And you Andy are the Poster Boy for the quality control issues experienced with the T2. Or have you forgotten the protracted battles you waged across multiple forums concerning the T2, where everybody else was wrong because "you" said so. You have a major credibility issue that is of your own making, which begs your opinion on small coil pricing.

As far as
MAP is Minimum Advertised Price, NOT street price
Is this or is this not an advertisement.......Then why should it be any different.

If my pricing is not correct on my site guess who is the first to call the Manufacture.........one guess.

Guess why the accessory now have a MAP price........

I see that another dealer has the same price........So, I guess That I will be selling at the same. And they are on the way. I order them 6 months ago.

1. Since my original post was deleted, answers to that post should be detected too.

2. You are right about me being the "Poster boy" of a T2 that had a bad coil. A second T2 i had later worked great.

It seems you see my coil post a Fisher vs Minelab post. Sorry i hurt your Minlab Fan feelings, but $ 150 for a small coil is too much no matter what company makes it. That is of course just my personal opinion, others will pay $ 150 and up without a problem.

You wrote: "But I can assure you I would not feed the greed at $934USD for a product that repeatedly has quality control issues, especially with it's coils"

Since the $ 934 is the price of the F75 it poofs again that you didn't get that my post was not a Fisher vs Minelab post.

But since you want to go there i recall some quality control issues on some Minelab detectors too. It just needs a few month until the bugs are out for all new detectors, no matter what brand.

I like how fast you put me in the "Fisher only box", but you are too fast. I still own other brand detectors from Tesoro, Minelab and Garrett.

Now try to control your feelings and stay polite.

Have a nice day,

Andy,NM

it was a reply to my original post that has been deleted, because i complained about high prices for small coils.
