Small Coil Opinions for Etrac in Trashy areas

Thanks for the feed back . GS

took the coil for a spin in the iron pit where I had been getting some coins with the bigger mars tiger coil but it was at its end so a good place to try the RIF out had no idea what to expect so NC and started swinging it did false on some of the bigger iron but it either went away after a few sweeps of I couldn't get a lock on it.

about 5 mins in a nice repeatable high tone and the 1st target found with this coil was a silver coin so guess its a keeper then went on to find a few old copper pennies etc.. and it seemed this coil only hit on round things and really the only thing I dug was the lump of what ever that metal is it was loud screamer but the numbers where 12-44 ish so I had to have a look and it scratches silver but don't think it is,

even the valve seats have round on them and the white screw cap was the carrot deep on that note highest I had it running was 28 in auto+3 and well I have never seen that before in this spot.

so yep its a keeper very happy. bit over an hr 2 small silver coins and larger coppers could have been silver handled the iron well and emi with the high gain so all in all a gamble I am glad I took.

That coil looks like a CC type (concentric) that I tested years ago while visiting the Czech Republic: the results were amazing after I tested it on an Explorer back here in my own stomping grounds.

The 6" EQ2 coil is fantastic - used mine for 1000 hrs. plus - ( until it shorted out ) - hit a lot of 7" plus dimes with it.
Have the 4.5" X 7" Excellerator coil now - it's better at getting into tight spots than any coil I've ever used before but it will not hit as deep as the 6" EQ2.

I've never owned a 5" SunRay coil or a 6" x 8" S.E.F. coil - but from all the posts I've read over the years - they are both fantastic little coils.

One thing to keep in mind -
If your going to hunt in the woods and other over grown areas an "open spoke" type coil like the S.E.F.'s will hang up on stubble a lot easier than the solid bottom type coils.

Good Luck !
