Thanks for the inspiration danbythecreek !Jack I suggest you get some simple basics down like finding your 1st dime or even a quarter before you start thinking slings and whatnots
I hear that! and congrats on the 33.5658 kilograms ie 74 lbs. with that in mind i only weight in at 18.9286 stones and your at 15.7143 stones thats is the only time i was happy with learning math!I've used a sling since I started water detecting in 2012 or 2013. Prevents me from dropping my detectors and doesn't interfere with my recovery at all. Another benefit is if someone decides to grab my detector and try to run off with it, they have to carry about 220 lbs of Fongu with them. Even tho I'm down 74 lbs from last November, 220 is still a load, but my sling complements my detecting and I want to buy another one so I don't have to take it off one detector and put it on the other. I know, I'm lazy, but it is what it is and I am what I am. HH.
On a bit on the older side, I've been hobbling around with a cane since March of 93, and I live in pain from a bad back and my mobility stinks. To deal with all the issues I have and still enjoy this great sport, it was an easy decision to select an assortment of detectors that are lightweight and/or well balanced. I have absolutely no to tether myself to a detector with a sling that's just going to get in the way when detecting we're making Target recoveries.
I've hunted small game since I was 8 and bigger critters since I was 12, and most folks considered me a pretty decent shot. The only thing I had a sling on a rifle for was to put it over my shoulder when I was dragging a critter out or hiking into where I got it. I didn't need it for shooting, and they just got in my way. No slings for hunting, and no slings for detecting.
