Went out for a bit this morning and found this. It read between a penny and dime for some reason on the Ace 250 and was about 4" deep.
It's a 1917-d This is the only coin I can think of ,that I have found ,that I can be positive of the date,, even though it completely wiped out and un -readable!

It has NO stars below the eagle,,so it is a 1916 or 1917 because of that. But it does have a "d" mint mark. And the 1916 didn't come with a "d" mint mark,,only the 1917 did. So it has to be a 1917-d!! Am I correct?? (or am I missing something??)

You are correct. I found a similar one and was only able to date it from those attributes .... nice find !
