Skill vs luck

I remember that an old Caribbean treasure hunter once said "Do not know if it is the detector that is lucky or me. I think, I am just lucky and the detector helps." At first it didn't seem very helpful? What I believe he meant by it was with his knowledge and skill he puts himself in right places at the right times which in turns makes him lucky and I believe that comes with time and experience! One more thing he said that has improved my luck also was "When I use a pulse, there is so much junk found, that I found, collecting a dozen signals or more before looking in scoop, was best way for me.." By recovering as many targets and quickly as I can has improved my success rate dramatically over trying to analyze and figure out what every target was. By the time it took to do that I could five or six targets in my scoop and moving on the next one! The only ones I skip over are the iron targets. Hope this helps! HH

Anyone can be lucky on occasion. Even a blind squirrel can find an acorn occasionally. But skill brings consistency in life. It's when you're skilled and lucky that you achieve greatness.
