Six Hour Beach Hunt on the Texas Gulf Coast!

How does it do in dry dirt ?Is the detector a 18 khz detector?Thank you.Just got back from the beach , 6 hour hunt and body is soar as hell, got a sunburn and just plain tired, like they say, no pain no gain. Took my GTI-1500 and AT-PRO. Both rings hit in the high 60 range, neither one is real, but nice rings anyhow. Buying another detector this month, wife not very happy, oh well, that’s life. I’m not sure, thinking either the Nokta Legend or Garrett AT-MAX, Cannot believe the depth with the AT-MAX in all metal mode, Crazy. Gotta go and take a nap!

little late with replies, but if you are going to beach hunt, personally i'd get a multi-freq machine. If you want to stick with Garrett, the apex or if you want to try something different get the legend or manticore

Hi, Do have a multi frequency detector and use it in local parks ball fields etc… I know that the general consensus is that the multi- frequency detectors are best in salty beach conditions. To be honest with you, do not really have any problems on the beach with the Max. I used the At-Pro for years before purchasing the Max and they both perform great in wet and dry beach sand. In the water is where you have a problem and would not recommend. You have to play with the settings to get it dialed in correctly. The Max has incredible depth and I would put it up against any high in detector.
