silver dime Trifecta...well sort of...

went out this morning to a local park, met up with Matt from Tennessee adventures... I was doing a grass area near the parking lot and pulled two clad quarters at 6", another 5 steps and I get a solid 12-43 kinda shallow at about 4 " out pops the Barber! strange how Clad quarters got a few inches deeper just a few feet away... anyway I left the park early after scoring the 1918 Merc ... Matt called me shortly after I left and he found an IH just feet away from where I stopped hunting for the day... good for him!
anyhow I get home and my wife has just returned from Wallyworld and said she found something in the coin return for me... yep it was Rosie... so while not dug, and not found by me, it did complete the "sort of" Trifecta today!

yeh I know... the E-trac is a silver hound, it's also a dime sniffer... the E-trac does get heavy once in while, especially when the 13" is on... using the 8x6SEF is like swinging an empty stick, today I had the stock coil on... I've been using the stock coil while trying all kinds of different settings on a located target... your right about noise cancel channel 2... seems to make the silver scream out more than channel 6 or higher... if I let the machine pick for me it always picks channel 10 or 11... I also noticed no difference using deep on or off. my finds again today were running manual 28 sensitivity, but when i located a target I switched to auto + 3 and on a few targets that averaged 6-8" the smooth tone disappeared.

It took years and years to find that secret silver channel.
SHHHHHH on that channel 2 thingy.....it is the etrac silver channel......your dirt is the culprit with auto+3....you have to go manual to punch thru it. When you hear that etrac THUNK sound...you go manual and adjust to a stable detector. The etrac does love silver dimes....any dime that is silver and the etrac has to have it....like a dog on a leash...it pulls you to it ......a silver dime magnet !

Was the merc. in a fire.
I Just found a Rosie the other day that was.
it had burnt denim material stuck to the backside.
I had these I also found can't remember when but I think they
have been in a fire also. Back in the day people burnt their trash I
think sometimes coin were still in the pockets
