Sierra Super Trac?

Saw this link posted on another forum http://ca.whiteselectronics.com/az.html

Looks like an early peek as nothing official yet.

SIMPLE - Only Three Controls

HIGH PERFORMANCE - Same GAIN as the MXT

FAST TRACKING - Same GROUND BALANCE as the GMT

Visual Target ID - Same DISPLAY as the M6

Looks no different than an M6. Just set up for working western gold country.

That would be the new four frequency detector: 2.4kHz - 8.4kHz - 25.2 kHz - and 50.4 kHz Only "S" rated coils will work on it, though you will be able to use the new "S" rated coils on your V3's, DFX's, MXT's, and M-6's.

:crylol:

Of course I'm making it all up...

Or AM I??? ;)

Saw that on White's Web site last week. I couldn't really figure out what it was designed for? Coins? Nuggets?

With most of the display sticker showing gold, my guess is primarily a nugget hunter that will find coins and iron as a secondary use. It looks like it could be a real nice detector for the nugget hunter who does some coin/relic hunting in the ghost towns too.

From the linked website "I tested this circuitry in England for two years and just had to haveit built for me."

So used coin and relic hunting in the UK, probably work for about anything. Emphasis on hunting in iron. Interesting to me is it runs in all metal with visual and audio ID, so in what is called mixed mode. My favorite way of hunting.

I just got a new Sierra Super Trac yesterday, I called whites a week ago and Jimmy Sierra just happen to answer the phone. He explained all about the SST and said it will do everything a MXT will do except prospect. Then he went on to say it will find gold too but it was designed for coin, rings and relic hunting. So I guess it will prospect?
He said it is just simplified over the MXT and better than the M6 which he said they are not promoting anymore but if you really want a M6 you can still buy one. He went on to say the SST works great at the beach and though it has a salt mode he recommended just to turn down the gain a little if it gets noisy.
hit the salt mode in last resort if it does not balance. Basically it is almost all self adjusting and a automatic MXT that is $100.00 less.
Since I have a gold machine already I went to my whites dealer and ordered a SST and got it yesterday. I hit a hunted out old school yard on my way home from work with it that I hit before and found 3- clad coins with my SST next to junk 7 & 8" so my first impression is good.
I can't wait to plan the day hunting to really put it to the test. I will report back soon

Wonder if this is Whites answer to Garretts AT Pro.

The ad says it grounds blances like the GMT so I
don't know why it can't be used for prospecting too.

The ad doesn't say what kHz it's operating in. Anyone know?

I just got a Sierra Super Trac and can tell you it is a remarkable machine for the money. Here are the facts: Has the depth of an MXT, the ultra fast tracking system of the GMT, and the seven tone audio ID of the M6. A silent search machine, it operates in the all metal mode (thus awesome depth) using seven tone audio tone id and vdi meter readout (VDI numbers, bars, icons) . The audio tone id is remarkably accurate, deeper, cleaner, and far less "muddled" as some other machines. With modulated audio the size or depth of the target is audibly discerned, and then add to that is the tone and visual id. Thus, a faint but high-pitched signal might be small silver or copper, a loud grunt is large iron, etc. Jimmy designed this for use where speed, depth, and sensitivity are important. As for nugget hunting, yes, it does find small gold, just not quite as small as the GMT. Handles bad ground exceptionally well. YES, at a site that is "wall to wall" trash, patience is required. A really top-notch machine. HH Jim

Oh yeah, operates at 15 khz and uses all the same coils as the MXT/DFX, etc. The stock coil for it is the 10x6 DD. Thus really sensitive to small targets and really good target separation.

ANY coil that works on a MXT will work on it, including the SEF. I would like to try one with the 10" DD and see what the depth would be.......Mark
