 Can the e-trac find a 14k white gold wedding ring? Watch the video and find out .:detecting:

This is awesome, thank you for the positive impact on this great hobby...

Excllent work,

Moose

Thanks! I find the etrac easy to set up and use. What I didn't show is after the first hour I acepted 20 and below on the 11, 12 and 13 line. I was hitting way too much trash from 20 to 30. I had a good idea the ring would hit at 8 or under and it did. It was a 2 hour hunt by the way and the ring hit at 12-02.

Great video, and story. I actually submitted my info for that site to join and work here in the Tri State area, but never heard anything back. Oh, and DON'T DUMP TRASH ON YOUR CAR! Holy scratches Batman! lol

WTG!

So you found it using the restrictive pattern and 1/6th sensitivity with manual sensitivity on 5 out of 30? How did you find a quarter?

The VDI of 12-02 makes me think it was Platinum, did you look at the stamp? 10k, 14k?

It was stamped 14k. He told me it was going to be white gold. I only found a nickel. I just told him I found a quarter then handed them the ring.

I had already air tested some of my gold rings plus other peoples numbers and 12- 1,2,3,5 and 7 were the most common numbers for smaller gold rings. My big 10k white gold class ring hits at 12-15 so I was pretty sure it would be lower than that.

Those seem low to me. Two 14k engagement rings come in 12-8, 12-7, another I tried came in 12-5, 12-8. The huge class ring my friend found came in 12-36, my two Balfour 10k class rings come in 12-36, and 12-38. All air tests. Air tests are pretty constant on my E-Trac, coins in the soil seem to be changing slightly seasonally.

Hi Randy.

The reason for a differing Con value for ring of the same karat, is usually due to the dimension of the THINNEST part of the 'circle'.

Typically, it is in the region of any form of filigree, or stone mountings.

If you look close you'll see the numbers on the screen. 12-02 was the actual reading. The TID did drift to 13-02 after the ring was found. The ring is 14k white gold. Your numbers may vary but mine are on the screen in the vid. I think the reason all your test rings hit higher than mine is that your rings are a lot better than the ones I have found or bought. I guess I'm cheap?

Awsome job! However, I was just wondering why you hate your vehicle so much? Must have been the great feeling of accomplishment. HH, nice video

LOL

You definitely have me digging more 12-02s etc now!

There's a couple of number charts floating around and the majority of gold rings hit 12-02, 12-03. Then the second most ring area was 07 and 08. The third area was 13 - 16 or so. I think if you just open up these tiny windows you run the best chance of hitting some gold while coin hunting certain areas.

My patterns do not discriminate anything on the 12 FE payline. And it doesn't bother me hearing every bottle cap and pull tab. I usually just concentrate on coins though. I have some numbers like 28 that I dig looking for tokens when I am in a good mood and have time. It is almost a subconscious thing, I have already added 12-02 and 12-05 to 12-08.
