show your best coin find of the year

this "morgan" is a copper fake, weighing in at 19g. it certainly did spend many years in the ground.

my theory is that these were silverplated and passed off as real.

does anybody know anything about this?

oh, and since that's not really a proper "coin", i did find a well-worn 1921-D merc:

Some really great finds you have all posted.

That's a half dime by the way.
Merry Christmas!

Does this count?

It was mounted in a 14K ring
I plan to have it repaired (solider joints are week) after doing more research on a good jeweler in 2008

I guess becuase the surface is so great, the 1796 was photographed on the same felt and with the same lighting and settings, so it is the quality of the coin and my 1796 from this year ain't that shabby either. :)

This is why I need a new jeweler ...
Good thing I took before pictures !
Wasn't finished when he said it would be! ( twice ) so I took it back !
He scratched it and cut into the edge removing the coin True professional ..not !!!

After his removal ....
And no I won't let him finish the repair!

If that would have been me, I would have asked him where he got his Jeweler's License from. Sounds like a Cracker Jack's Box to me! There is no way that he could get away with Destroying a Customer's Ring like that, especially what he did to that Coin. I would talk to a Lawyer and see what they say about this. Maybe then he will have to pay for the Coin, Ring, and court cost. Something should be done! Too bad that had to happen on that Find Skully. Good Luck and HH.
