Show of Hands - How many use ONLY the Etrac for ALL their land hunting?

As you can see by my "signature" I currently have 4 machines. I wonder, especially in an Etrac forum, how many people own just the Etrac and use it exclusively for all their land hunting 'needs'?

I never thought I'd say it, but I'm seriously considering it for myself. The M6 has found more gold for me than all the machines I have ever owned combined. If I can get the 'feel' for gold with the Etrac like I have with the M6, the M6 will be gone. The Omega is my 'trunk machine' - goes everywhere my car goes (for those unforeseen detecting opportunities) and if it should ever be stolen would be less costly to replace than the Etrac. The AT Pro is my water machine - although some have suggested it might be even better on gold than the M6.

Hey, it's too cold outside to be detecting right now, so let's read what you have to say on your machine(s).

Thanks for sharing!

I might be taking a gamble stating this, but I bet that most e-trac users own more than 1 machine for the reason that some machines work better than others at finding different things. I've had the Omega for about 1.5 years, and I love it to death. When I was debating to step up to the e-trac, I told myself that it would be the right move because I could sell the Omega to help cover the cost. I've only had the e-trac for a few weeks, but as soon as the e-trac arrived I couldn't stand the thought of parting with my Omega. Though I am still in the learning phases with the e-trac, I don't plan to switch between the two MDs, even though I KNOW that I'd have 5X as much booty after my hunts if I used the Omega. But this doesn't matter because I know that once I learn the e-trac, I'll be finding much more silver than the Omega could find. Different horses for courses.

My primary detector in the E-Trac and I have an M6 as my backup. I plan on getting a Fisher CZ21 before the summer for my water/beach hunting. I'm keeping a close eye on the feedback concerning the XP Deus and may add that machine to my stable as well for coin and relic hunting. I am not brand loyal and like to use quality equipment that works well.

I only own an etrac. and a whites, but the whites is just a sentimental relic to me now.

are you sure about that? that omega goes deep, and is a coin killer in the junk,
especially with the 5" dd coil on board!..just sayin' don't get physcologically
hung up! you got a sweet coin hound there in the omega! already!

Started with an Ace 250 then went to E-Trac which is what I use exclusively. My wife took over the Ace and then I upgraded her to an X-Terra 705 which is a super machine and she was doing so well with it I upgraded that to her own E-Trac. So for backup our first choice would be the 705, I take people out to try out detecting I let them use the Ace since is good and simple to use.

We both use the Etrac exclusively for Land

The Husband has the Fisher CZ21 for Scuba and Water Detecting

He still has his old Detectors in storage for sentimental reasons

And we have a DFX for back up but I can no longer use it so when my Etrac was in the shop he used the DFX and I used HIS ETrac

Now we have a back up ET and are selling our DFX's( the Detector's we used before the ETracs)

Good Luck

E trac newbie here, But cannot stop thinking when I grab other detectors, what I'm I missing ????

I have several detectors....E-Trac, F75, Ace350, and Compadre. I never....ever....use any of my other detectors. Even on the days that I curse the heaviness of the E-Trac on those long hunts. I simply wouldn't want to miss anything.....E-Trac = Confidence, all the others make me feel like I've missed something.

just cant help myself can i  it does not matter what machine you use it will not find everything its impossible, granted the etrac is hard to put down but i guarantee it doesn't find everything.

I take the E-trac only always... the sov xs2 pro sits in the closet and the classic III gets loaned out from time to time. It's not that I wouldn't give another machine a try, there are a few that have my brows raised.

Lol...I know this, but at least I don't always feel like I missed something. :starwars:

I use an e-trac for all my hunts and have an old Fisher's 1260x in the closet when a nephew or niece want to go detecting with me.

I use my E=trac exclusively for all my land hunting but carry one of my Garretts just in case I meet someone who seems interested in what I am doing and I offer the other detector for them to try. I meet some interesting people this way and get lots of new locations also.

Purchased the E-trac last november. The DFX and the M-6 have been idle since.
But I will take both of them to Idaho later in the year looking for gold.

I would say it's all I use right now for my Metal Detecting. It seems to be so well dialed in right now I don't dare change anything on it. If there is a coin in the ground it screams "THERE IS A COIN UNDER THIS COIL!!!". Literally. Dimes at 8" easily. Running sensitivity up there at 28 +3. Got my brain trained too. It all comes together for a killer combination.

I use the E-Trac exclusively at our city park and my DFX for everything else.

My testing has shown my DFX is the better tot lot/school/relic machine. Just as I choose to use only the E-Trac at the city park so I don't miss much, the same is true with the DFX.

I've been really surprised, and impressed, when I took the E-Trac back over great sites I had hunted with my past detectors. Only at the city park has the E-Trac pulled many missed deep coins. I took the E-Trac to an old carnival grounds site where the DFX had pulled many wheats, silvers, Indian heads and V-nickles and rings and after many hours found absolutely nothing my DFX had missed. I would have thought I could find 1 or 2 missed goodies at least, but not one single keeper has been found with the E-Trac at this site. I have a few others sites that turned out the same and that is why I still keep my DFX around.

Count me as one who exclusively uses the E-Trac. I've gotten no where near the "knowledge" I want to be with this machine and I don't even own any othe coil for it yet. I plan on getting some different coils in the future, but my machine has literally paid for itself within the first 2 years.

Now if I can just get it to pay for my time....:clapping:

still all I use. I did buy a Garret AT Pro almost a year ago. Still haven't taken it out the the box:wacko:
