But instead, I decided to mow the lawn. Got good and sweaty, almost done, and ran over a very large nest of ground bees. Got stung over at least 100 times, an ambulance ride later and it looks like I'll survive. Feeling no pain at the moment, back home with a new bottle of vicodin and several bottles of benadryl, per doctor's orders. I look like hell, though....:surrender:

Dang VBdave. That's a tough way to get a break. Glad you weren't one of those that immediately go into shock from a bee sting. Could have been deadly. There are some fringe benefits to legally being advised to take Vocodin. Jim

Goes quite well with a Wild Turkey chaser...

Gas them S.O.Bs while it's dark take 2 vicotin a couple glasses of Wild Turkey and you'll feel better hopefully in the morning. Get well soon. HH :minelab:

I don't think i would of made it as i was allergic to bee stings as a kid.Had take the Epi-pen (Epinephrine) everywhere I went. I don't think I'm allergic now but don't care to find out.
Get well soon.

These stings are still quite painful..So I called in sick and am heading to the beach with the PI Pro. I figger the salt water will help:rolleyes:

Dig the Gold, Forget the Pain..............

I had the same thing almost happen to me a few weeks ago, hit a ground hornet nest with the rider, luck I was moving fast enought they did not have time to figure out what hit them, But they were out before I was past, that quick... I came back after sunset, Big Hole in the ground = One Gallon Of Gasoline..Gone the next day...

Hope your feel better after your hunt.......................joe

:thumbup:I say take the Vicodan and go detecting...there is always a middle ground.

P.S. This user does not advocate drug consumption and swimming...stumbling down the beach and digging is another matter.

you are a walking talking miracule.. most people would not survive that many stings whether allergic or not.. hope the pain and swelling go away soon... when you feel a little better you might want to try some wet sand and saltwater therapy .. just keep a lookout for jellyfish and sharks,,,

I read about a guy who was allergic to bee stings, he got stung bad by a nest of wasps under a porch as a young boy.
His mother was frantic and an old man walking by the house came up and said "Do you have any gasoline"??
She got a can and he told her to dab it on all the stings right away.
The boy got better, the swelling went down, and a lesson was learned.
True?? I don't know, but I remember it, and dab on some gas if I get stung, they don't swell up, I have noticed.
Glad you're okay. HH
