Should I upgrade?

Get yourself a Cibola. Same simplicity as your Silver; turn on and go, light weight, one 9 volt battery, but will have the HOT (Lobo) circuitry. For under $350 you can't go wrong. It is more sensitive and will add depth over your Silver.
Good hunting, David

Some more great advince and suggestions... thanks folks. Will try and experiement with these, thats half the fun. :heh:

Due to finances right now, will probably have to put an upgrade off to the side regardless. For the next few weeks, I think I may try hunting in AM. Then, when I get a hit, switch to Min Disc and if its still there, go get it, if it breaks up or is gone, leave it. May even try digging some of those quieter sounds as well, as I have been sort of ignoring those and going after mostly the bigger hits. Love this hobby though... the experimenting and trying new things, just increases the fun and the challenge. Thanks again for all the advice etc, I really appreciate it.

Every time you pull out a piece of trash you are that much closer to treasure.

Yay!!! Reckon the Silver does find Gold!!! Happy Dance in the middle of the park this morning. First Gold! 14K White Gold, mens wedding band. Finally broke the streak!

Ya'll were right, just keep hanging in there. Lol. Hunted in AM, got a nice hit, switched to Min Disc, still got the hit, dug it and out popped me first gold ring!
