short sidwalk hunt with the Ace

I'm starting to like hunting the sidewalk strips, even though a lot of gawkers. Today my hunch paid off a little, in front of a older looking bungalow was a 1943 silver dime. There were a few odd finds also such as a little cap gun, a rusted button with Lincoln on it, and a whatzit small thimble like object. It looks like a thimble but is not a thimble? Thanks for looking. hh oj

Do you find it weird that you found a toy Derringer and an image of Lincoln? Cool stuff. You're finding a lot of silver this year.

:usaflag:Is the thimble-like object an old valve stem cover for a tire maybe? Is the inside threaded?

Those are some great finds. That sure looks like a thimble for a child. They taught young girls to sew at an early age back then. There was some type of project someone took to the Antique Road Show of some young girl's embroidery from the 1700 or 1800's and it was worth a lot of money. The elderly lady who took it to the show was an decendent of this little girl.

Looks like a thimble to me too. Thats a way cool little derringer!
