ShootOut! CTX3030/XP Deus/Fors Core/Velox one/CF77

Yes I seen CaliforniaGold's post on another forum with his continuous nugget finds, He's getting them and like you said from an area he's hit with another top end gold machine.

I'm more into relic hunting, Tried nugget hunting but never had any luck or was on the right area. So always resorted back to relic hunting the same gold mountains nuggets are found recovering relics and coins from the gold rush era or down further west along the coastal range for the early relics/coins, Will share my experiences and finds with the Fors Gold in the near future. Should be here Tuesday next week and hopefully get out that same week at an old site or two, Can hardly wait :bouncy:

Have the deus to compare the Fors Gold too so looking forward to this as well, Thanks again for making the video.

Paul

From what has been said by NiagracountyNY it sounds good, but we have seen this before with one person or 2 saying a certain detector is so great and will do so much others wont do. we all want the best so Then many will try one and find out what they used before was better. Being you Paul have been detecting for a while and tried many different detectors I for one will be very interested in your finding and opinion on the Fors Core.

Rick

I didnt relize I was saying any one detector was so great or will do so much other wont there Rick.I own alot of machines of all makes and models.I used 4 brands in this test.3 did well.Im not pushing any brand, just showing what works for my conditions. And 3 out of the 4 I own worked for that scenario. How many years and how many detectors does a guy have to own for you to consider the information informative Rick?

Don't get me wrong here as I too have used many different detectors since 1973 and like to see other opinions also, but there are some that tries a different detector or does some test on object either preburried or air test and claim it is the greatest. I am not and I repeat I am not referring to you and why I am asking to hear what Paul thinks on it as he is one of several I value their opinion. Paul will put it to the test I am sure on actual target in actual hunting, so we will be getting a opinion on a actual hunt which most of us do.
I like what I see on your test and keeping us informed about these detectors and value your opinions too and would like to see more info from other owners also .

Rick

Hi Rick,

I agree, NiagracountyNY made a neat presentation with the video and it does sound like a good machine. Especially for under a grand has some neat features, Looking forward to getting mine.

Yes, Indeed will share here on the Metal detecting forum how it operates on the west coast especially in poor soil. Going to hunt with the unit with different types of hunting, Relic hunting for starters then coin shooting an old park or two. Then, Try her out on gold jewelry from schools and such see how it does with low conductive targets especially the tiniest of jewelry. Gold nugget hunting will have to wait limited with time and later in the future will try my luck with nugget hunting up in Gold Country, Have some friends who do nugget hunt and maybe someday our schedules will be the same would be great to see how the Nokta does up in gold country. Someone from California is finding Gold nuggets with his Fors Gold which is great and that was one of the several strong points swaying me into getting the Fors Gold instead of the Fors CoRe.

I purchased the Fors Gold instead of the Fors CoRe, Both are similar and the Fors Gold having the capabilities of being a good relic/coin machine sprung for the Fors Gold which has other features not found with the CoRe that are suited for nugget hunting which is needed here on the West Coast.

Hope I didn't make a mistake of not getting the CoRe, the Fors Gold appears to be everything of the CoRe but has the Gold features to enhance my gold jewelry hunting so time will tell if the Fors Gold does well for our area.

On vacation next week, Have allot of catching up home priorities to do first then once those are out of the way will take the Fors Gold out for serious hunts with it's three coils. Can't wait :)

Take care Rick!

I think you will do fine with the Fors gold.it will find everything the Fors Core does, and has the added features you will like for Gold hunting like the audio boost. That Deus you mentioned I really think would do well on gold also.I am just getting used to mine, but the gold field mode is very sens.Another great machine with a ton of potential.HH

Having great success with the Deus as a relic machine, Not so much for deep turf park silver but for serious relic hunting it's a keeper. The Deus will detect a deep park coin but target ID is not as good as FBS, That's were I have high hopes the Fors Gold hopefully will do better than the deus for deep park silver target ID wise, The Fors Gold should fair darn close as a relic machine as compared with the Deus though and will see first hand next week when using both side by side comparing signals.

As for prospecting, Both should do well and yes the Deus does have potential especially with future computer upgrades making it an even better machine.

From my understanding, The Fors Gold 2-tone boost mode will have a slower recovery speed which is fine but out in areas laced with iron the (DI3): 3-Tone mode will be best. Be interesting to see how the recovery speed is with the Fors Gold in 3-tone mode, Pretty sure it's fast enough in areas thick with iron. Can't wait :)

Take care,
Paul

I wonder how would Blisstool Detector v5 would do in this test they say that it is the beast lol i have no idea

The bottom line it's what you are happy using and have confidance in that counts, shoot outs or what ever you like too call them dont really mean a great amount, sure they give you some indication on the features and that is basically it.

Also it makes no odds what the latest detector is or how much it costs its just a lump of plastic and electronics, its the skill of the operator that makes all the differance and not the detector, you can switch on the all singing all dancing detector but it wont find you anything, but you get a experianced detectorist then you will.

You can have all the experience in the world,Take an ACE 250 into an Iron patch and you will find nothing.Knowing what machines handles each condition the best is the point of a test like this.If you hunt alot of iron, you need a machines designed to deal with it.Im not brand loyal,Im what works for my situation loyal.Thats why I own several makes and models.I have yet to find one detector that can do it all the best.I don't think it can be done to be honest to many variables. We should all use what works for our own individual situation.Rember I bought all these machines, why would I want them to not work??

if it not in detector why people pay 600 to 2000 for a detector people would stay with 200 dollar detector i believe some is better than others

Hello bigjohn,

I have a blisstool v5, It does well in iron actually extremely well. Have ran test with buried copper penny and a square nail on top and it fared well. The v5 has made some great finds, One was a recent 1806 reale here on the California Coastal mountains.

Will include the bliss v5 with the Nokta Fors Gold test along with the Deus and maybe the XP GoldMaxx,, The XP GoldMaxx is another good machine non-metered for unmasking and the audio is fantastic, made by the same company as the Deus.

Not up to speed with making videos, That's a little to much for me to comprehend but will take pictures of the machines and hopefully finds if they surface.

Take care,
Paul

Same here Rick, Very excited to see what the Fors Gold can do. Some of these newer machines are great relic machines but lack the strengths of a good deep turf machine and get fooled allot, I remember back in the day with the Sovereign one could hunt without a meter and find deep coins based from the audio boy was that fun knowing you had a deep coin based from the audio.

These newer machines today can get the deep coins but they also get fooled allot, Allot of sensitivity coming out of these new models kind of effect ID on the weaker signals. But for relic hunting, hands down great machines allot better than our older units.

Will share my results and thoughts here soon on the Fors Gold, Can't wait to open the box when it arrives

All the best,
Paul (Ca)

that sound good to me thanks

Been looking hard at the Fors Core. Anticipating the reports on how well it does in the parks. Hoping it has consistent and accurate target ID and doesn't false on the steel crown caps. So far it is looking pretty good. Thanks for sharing the information.
