The Equinox is coming, but how many?? I been told the first shipment the dealer get 1 to show as then they will start trickling in in the week or month for any others that is in their order, so if you waited before you ordered back in Sept it can be a while before you see one. I ordered mine when it was said that there was a new Minelab coming out so I am number 4 on the dealers list and was told not to expect one from the first order as only so many are available and they want to make sure all dealers get one first, said will know more once they see how many will be in the first order.
Lets hope there is at least a few extras for those that ordered early and they dont favor one dealer and give them the bulk of the first order to give them a advantage over other dealers because they are the biggest dealer.

LOL. Come on guys I'm as anxious to get my Equinox as the next guy, but you seem to be looking for a second by second update.

Ok, assume there were X number shipped to the US, and they got to Chicago yesterday. And lets say Chicago will start splitting them up and shipping to distributors on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Assume there are 5 distributors in the US and each distributor has maybe 'X' dealers to ship to. Is each dealer going to get a set amount, like 3 per dealer from the distributor? Or will the Kellyco's of the world get some sort of % based on sales? So, a small dealer with limited sales may get one or none until supplies get better.

Or as someone said above, the 'pre-paid' gets shipped first from the distributor or from dealer? I was thinking all distributors had some sort of 'pay us first' and 'we ship after we get paid' deal with dealers, as I doubt a distributor wants 'stock' on dealer shelves depending on a dealer to sell them. Under that scenario the decision about who gets the first ones is, and should be, the dealers decision.

So, some customers will most likely receive their machines around Feb.12-14! Some may get theirs a tad sooner. Pick up at a dealer may be quicker than waiting for the dealer to ship to your house.

End of story.

How many the dealers will get and who will get one and who will be waiting, like I say hope they dont favor the biggest dealers and let the smaller one waiting a long time to get some of their Equinox.

Found out from my “small dealer” that I made the cut and will be getting one from the first run.
I ordered the morning it was announced and was the first on his list.
I did not have to pre-pay.

I would say the warehouse is at minelab headquarters. Looks as though the round thing the pallet is sitting on is for spinning the pallet to wrap it. the ones on the left just got wrapped. But then again this was taken Thursday night (my time) . So these thing could easily have been flown to the US by now. No idea about customs.

Yeah I hate to say but there may be some very unhappy pre order customers if each dealer only gets a few units and they have to wait an additional month or so to get the units in their hands. That is the downside to pre ordering something that is in high demand. I think Minelab should have set a maximum number of pre orders based on how many units they could realistically produce in the first month of offering. The dealers that took tons of pre orders and some that took the $ up front may have some irate customers before this is all over.
I wonder how many will just step out of line and pick up one of the other new units offered by other manufactures. That being said, I am hoping I will have one in my hands by the end of May.

Yep, I've been on the fence and gone as far as dialing the number a couple times and then changing my mind to cancel my pre-order from early Oct. If I'm not in the first batch.. I'll cancel and let some other person move up one space. Not a huge deal and not angry or mad, just really tired of all the BS. If I have to wait.. I'll do it on my own time and with my cash in my pocket.

I just for the life of me can't understand how some will sit on a pre-order list from late September or early October until now, and NOW -- with Minelab finally giving concrete info, and stating that they intend to have all pre-orders filled within the next 3 weeks or so -- NOW becomes the time some folks are deciding that they need to cancel their pre-order...



Whatever the case, it's up to each individual. Just stating an opinion. If you have waited 6 months, what's another 1-3 weeks -- when at this point you can actually see the machines moving/shipping to customers?

George -- I don't think there's anything secretive about this. Their notice says "Equinox now shipping to customers." That doesn't mean shipping from Australia or Malaysia to distributors, it means they are beginning to be shipped to CUSTOMERS.

Actually they are not shipping to the customers but to the distributors and then from the distributors to the dealers. Some get stock directly from Minelab but they are not getting any more than the rest of the dealers which unfortunately is a fraction of what was placed on the pre-order list for each dealer.

My dealer as far as I'm aware gets them directly from Minelab and sells them to all the other shops. I put a 50%deposit down in Aug or September cant remember now as it was that long ago I've even mislaid the receipt i printed out. I was expecting a courtesy email from my dealer as it said on the site due Dec 2017, at least they could of said if I wasn't happy I could cancel my order and have my deposit returned, I'm presuming all the others that ordered with them also haven't heard nothing. (just in time for a edit it was the 21 September when I ordered mine) they normally do free delivery on detectors but they are charging for delivery
