Share your strangest and most unexpected finds

I thought I would start a thread about what strange things you all have pulled out of the ground. I know I have had some unique and quite unexpected finds. Also if you can share what your detector thought it was before you dug it up it might be that much more interesting.

I have had many strange finds, for example today I found a full bottle of super glue about 4" under the grass in a park.
However the one that tops my list to date is a foil condom wrapper from the early 90's on the play ground of an elementary school. My detector told me it was a quarter, you can imagine my surprise :yikes:

Been too many to list ! The one that sticks out in my mine, is I was stopped on the off-ramp of the I-15 on our way to up north. Just outside of Barstow heading towards Vegas. I was walking our two dogs and was just looking on the ground. In a pile of dirt I spotted a glint of a flash. Looked closer and seen a silver object partially sticking out of the dirt. When I dug it out it was a man's wedding ring made of titanium.:surprised: I guess they were on their way to Vegas to get a quickie divorce or as the saying goes "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"

My strangest was when I dug a small plug and once I removed the dirt I could see a flashing red light in the bottom of the hole.
A red l.e.d. bulb with a small watch type battery was just blinking away at me two inches below the surface.
I figure me disturbing the soil jiggled the battery enough to get it fired up again.

Unexpected 1916 D Dime.

Nice find.
I don't see what's strange about a Mercury Dime? Except maybe the age of the coin.:yikes:

Using a Minelab E-Trac with a 8"x6" SEF Coil I found this unusual 1942 half dollar with a .22 caliber
bullet embedded in it but not protruding through the other side. Target #04-44. I'm guessing the
combination of bullet and half dollar made the target number a little bit off the normal 06-46 to 10-46.
Medium soil conditions with some iron junk at 6" depth.

maybe some gun shooting demonstration where the guy forgot to pick up one target after the demonstration ???

You might possibly be spending good finds as change, or just have them in a box sitting. ???????????????

i found a whole roll of pennies, they were not old, but stuck together and the wrapper had disintergated. and yep, there was only 49, one short.

My most unusual find was a hand grenade (pineapple I believe they were called) pin and plunger intact.

That got my attention real quick.

I called the local sheriff, they came out and dug it out from about 6" down.

It was hollow, so no danger. But, I didn't know that.

The law men kept the grenade, even though I wanted it as a souvenir.
Could have been worse I guess.

Believe the money clip was lost last fall as it was still on top of the ground, but was covered by some grass and leaves. Don't know if U.S. bills would disintegrate into nothing over the winter or not... Mtnmn

i do not think money would disintergrate that fast. I have found a few bills lost in winter along trails in summer.
