I may have not been clear in my title, not specified to US only, I meant for ALL gold coins. Your Edward is a beauty and along with the Celtic, wow that is old, old, x old history there! No US Gold coins here either, congrats on your beauty of a coin. I have been fortunate to have found 4 Celtic golds and 1 hammered gold ( Edward the1st ) while detecting in the UK.

Awesome find there Mark, happy with mine, but yours make me a tad jelly. Congrats sir!I dug this 1911 $2.50 out of a old park mine was in 2016 my first year back to detecting the park gave up lots of old silver and halves and one Morgan dollar and my first CC seated quarter.
I still go back .
The gold coin was attached to a sterling money clip I first found the clip in the hole and saw that a coin had fallen off so I dug out a handful of dirt and saw the gold coin that was once attached I was in shock! I had the bezel around the coin removed by a jeweler.
Mark
