Hello to all the treasure hunters. I have a question I would like to ask I just started hunting yesterday I found a bunch of junk some interesting some not, oh by the way I have a BH tracker IV. My first question is when I look at the dials should I look at them as I would a clock or as dials what I mean is that on a clock the numbers go 12 1 2 3 you get the hint and on a dial it go's from left to right 1 2 3 4 5 so I think I'm not getting my settings right because I have read that a lot of you set the dial from 3 to 4 sensitivity in DISC or TONE mode can anyone help me. Thank you.:pulltab:

Just as you would read a clock, turn the sens clockwise to about the 4 0'clock position and turn the discrim counter-clockwise to about 9 o'clock. If you get constant chatter turn the sens back counter clockwise until it stops. If you still get a lot of constant noise turn the discrim clockwise until it lets up. Iron is your biggest nemisis, rusty nails and such are quite plentiful. I set the switch to "Tone" and dig all signals that I can pinpoint. Local soil/mineral conditions will dictate what settings will work best for you. If you find a pull tab or screw cap in the hole pick it up then sweep the hole again. I have found some coins that were masked by a tab or cap. Do a search in the Bounty Hunter forum for "Tracker IV" and you will pick up quite a few good tips from users of this fine machine. It just loves to find change! It's ok to pm me with questions too.
