Sensitivity

I have a question for all v3i Owners. I have been adjusting Rx gain but not changing Disc. sensitivity. To me Disc sensitivity gives you better depth than cranking up Rx gain. To me, if I lower the Rx gain it help to ID items better in nail infested areas. I'm new at runing the V3i, I think the machine is great, I just need to learn all the setting and how it effects depth and target ID. Any feed back woud be helpful from you seasoned V3i Owners.

Exactly right...... RX gain is the first amplifier in the receiver circuit and amplifies everything the coil receives including EMI, iron halos, minerals and other unwanted signals. You are far better off to reduce the RX gain and increase Discrimination Sensitivity. I never go over RX 10 and I have heard of many going as low as 5 for stability and still get good depth.
