Selling my six inch and going for the seventeen

Seems like the stock coil is becoming irrelevant. I personally love it and it serves my purposes very well. It is far better than any stock coil of my previous three detectors.

In my initial post I explained why I wanted the 17-inch over the 6 inch. I primarily hunt woods and fields and I have limited time. I wanted to cover as much ground as possible where separation really doesn't matter that much because I am out in the field where the targets I am looking for are not nestled amongst the trash. If I am in a yard or a park I could see myself going back to the stock coil but only for the time I'm there.

It all depends on how and where you hunt as which coil you use. I wouldn't not dare use a 17" coil in a park near a picnic area. Not on the beach?? OH YEAH!!

All I use is my 17" coil and I hunt parks 99% of the time. My silver finds have increased 500% using the 17" coil. Maybe that's due to increased ground coverage, but I won't be taking it off any time soon!!

I am going out this morning park detecting with a new detectorist and another forum member. I will leave the 17 incher on to see what turns up.

Spent about three hours at two different parks yesterday. I found the 17 to be manageable even with trash interspersed.
Pinpointing is now pretty easy, of course nearby trash does make it a bit more difficult but I can deal
I found a mercury, quite a few wheats and gobs of clad aka trash

The one lady I was with a CTX user found wheats and the other lady I was with found two silver rings using her AT!

Overall a really nice day to be outside detecting with really nice people.
