Second Ever Big Silver

Member
Cleaning out a site that had occupation until the 1970s but was originally settled in the 1850s. Goal is to clean this site of all the modern foil and aluminum and get down to the good old stuff. I had dug well over sixty targets and decided my next would be the last for the night.

Came across a very loud but clean signal. Considered the possibility of it being a good find due to it being a very clean sharp signal but the pile of junk I had dug prior didn’t lend a lot of hope.

Popped it out and was graced with my second ever Morgan Silver Dollar. This one was holed, likely worn as a necklace at some point in its history.

Few wheats, a war nickel, and brass ring were honorable mentions in the hunt as well.

Thanks for looking!

Doesnt that just bust your gut when you find a great 1 in a million finds and its damaged !!!!

Thankfully not too bad. Beautiful coin !!!!

WTG !!

2 years ago, I was detecting in England , When I popped my shovel out, this big white thing appears and I said WT** ?????

It was huge silver flying saucer, Charles 2nd 1/2 crown. Slicker than slick. Could barely see and outline of the King. The date was barely readable but turns out to be a very
rare coin. Too bad its slicker than slick. Other coins form that location were also very slick. Think is was worn down cause they didnt like the King. Never found a huge silver coin in 20 years.
That year I found 2 1/2 crowns. 2nd one is awesome but Im not home for a picture

Any Congrats. Morgan's are are no matter what. !!!

Cheers,
Donna
