Seated Grand Slam

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. It had not occurred to me to send to Minelab, so thanks for the recommendation. I have done just that.

Attached are a couple pics I could not include with the original post due to limits on the number of files that can be uploaded.

By the way, Jim and I have been back to that area several times hoping for some more hits- he found a shield nickel, and I got skunked. I guess that is the way it goes, but trust me I am not complaining.

Congratulations on a hunt of a lifetime that seated dollar is in awesome shape and the 20 cent piece is not too bad either awesome hunts :surprised:

Stunning finds! That would be a dream-come-true spot for me.

I have never seen or heard of a 20 cent piece being and found by a detector either in 40 years of that I have been hunting.I would like to share an experience of mine I kept finding half dimes,3 cent pieces, and dimes for several years in a farm field here in Illinois all coins were silver from around 1854. All in same corner of a field where hired hands house use to stand.I went to my dealer and asked him if I could borrow his 2 box treasure hound locator.Long story shortened found broken half quart jar at 15 inches several hundred coins and 2 US civil war buckles and beautiful brass powder horn..The farmer had just taken off about 3 inches off glass jar with his equipment to scatter coins the rest were in great condition in bottom of blue jar if he had not the cache would have still been there. You may want to bring in deeper seeking detecting equipment if you keep finding old large silver like you have been finding the amount you have found in one area is just too much to be just lost coins. Thanks for sharing.

What a great day! Congratulations, and welcome to the 20 cent club...they're very rare to find. I found one back in May of this year. I still need a Seated Dollar to complete having all Seated Type Coins. Good luck!

that just makes me wonder, what is still out there, waiting to be found, or most likely never will be found. theres got to be just tons and tons of silver and gold coins out there.
