SE or stick with XS & EXII

Happy birthday btw

Bryce -- you said:

A lot of guys will get what they think is a good target...but when they go to pinpoint...the location of the pinpointed target gets "sucked" as much as a foot away from the original "hit"....so they mark it off as iron.

Some practice...patience...and a little "minelab wiggle" while in the normal hunt mode over where you originally got the good hit....can often result in a keeper from the iron.

I have to agree 100 percent. The most recent Barber dime I dug was just one, recent example of this. Sometimes pinpoint just will NOT zero in, if there's too much nearby iron...but that Minelab wiggle can help you hone in on the good hit in those cases...

I used Bryce's Explorer2 for a few weeks then used his SE for another 2 weeks before deciding I liked the SE better.
It just seemed a little hotter and the pinpoint feature has helped me a lot. He beat that in my head when I used it and now I understand why. It has really been a nie help to me when deciding to dig or not. I like it because it ID's.

I think the se is a more sensitive detector than the other explorers. I have an etrac too but I just use the explorer more. I think the se is a little less tame than the others but it also seems deeper. Just my opinion bud. Good luck.

I agree with Bryce's post 100%. In my experience, however, I find that pinpointing in a trashy area does not allow me to use the pinpoint feature of my detectors anyway. I use small coil in trashy areas and use the sound, turn 90 degrees and use the tone again to pinpoint. The pinpoint feature tends to lock on to the trash too well in trashy areas and so I generally don't use it. I highly recommend the Se and the E-trac over the XS. I have run the XS in the past and I currently have an Se Pro nad E-Trac and would never go back. Just my opinion but I love these two machines and would not give them up for anything else at the moment. HH -Marc

I don't dig surface signals....

:surprised:
Might want to reconsider that... I have found spanish silver, seated dimes, even large cents on the "surface". Now that I think about it... my oldest coin, 1699 WIII, was on the surface; and I do mean literally.

Well I chose a used SE with a "pro coil" on it so I hope I can learn from people on here. I wish I would have known about this site sooner.

what you stated in the response link below. Enjoy the forum...and take the learning process very slooooooowwwwww.:clapping:
