SE learning Problems

i'm running my xs at 32 semi-auto and always have a threshold except when it nulls. shouldn't be any nulls in all-metal. unless there's some setting that could affect the theshold you may want to send it in.

I've been toying around lately in semi-auto using pitch hold while using a Sunray X-5 coil at some of my very hunted- trash filled sites with the SE .It seems to be drawing out a lot of good signals I wasn't getting before and helping out with the nulling . It's great how you can adjust your Explorer to fit different hunting situations to keep drawing out more targets .I would also advise getting Andy's new book on the Explorer and E-Trac there's a lot of good stuff in it . I also use a M-6 when I want to do some "fast moving "
detecting .

Hi Denny,
I can understand your problems because I have been through them myself. Where you are hunting can be one reason you are not finding a lot of coins and more relics. You need to hunt areas where lots of people have congregated in the past. Old school grounds, Old city parks and Ball Parks As well as soccer fields. They are hunted by many folks but there is still plenty of old coins there if the places are old. I recently found a pocket drop of a standing liberty quarter, two Wheaties, and a buffalo nickle in the same hole about 6 feet from a picnic table at 3 inches deep. Your detector is capable of finding coins 6 to 10 inches deep. the way to find the deep coins is to sweep your detector very slow and brush the soil with the coil. In trashy areas you may be swinging to fast and the detector does not have enough time to recover from the last target so you can hear it. I have a long way to go and have gained enough experience to feel the Minelab detectors are truly silver magnets used properly. You must remember you have to sweep over silver to find it. I have found more silver with this detector than 4 other ones I have bought. I now I am reaching the experience that will put me in the league of some of my friends I detect with. There are days I beat them in finds so I know this machine works.

Best of luck in the future.

Thanks all. I just finished Andy's book and will try some of the programs in there. I think my biggest problem is swinging too fast.

Hello!

You are not alone!
I officially put up my SE Explorer up for sale tonight.
(If anyone is interested, send me an email) or call me.

I just ordered the White MXT detector and will get it
on Tuesday.

The Minelab may be a great machine but I have
enough stress at work all day. I just wanted
a simpler machine.

Incididently, I will consider any reasonable offer:

SE Explorer Pro w/ pinpointer
Weather cover
Carrying case
