i find the se pinpoints under the sticker on the coil. just 'north' of center.

i'm hoping 'hunting season' opens up here this weekend.

thanks that is what I was thinking...also having a little..not much ...trouble with depth reading in pinpoint...hard for me to get the coins near surface to stay at a shallow reading...

Probably best to focus on the SE, to learn it's fine points, before you spend time making the comparisons...

Would give you the best chance for learning the new machine, I think?

Is hunting an older site that has them. If you are finding modern coins with the SE, especially dimes and quarters and nickels; you are already working the machine because dimes, quarters, and nickels, whether silver, old, or modern give the exact same tone and show up in the same place on the smart find. So whenever you are digging them (modern), if there was silver there you'd be finding that too. Don't get discouraged on the lack of silver, find an older site.:thumbup:
