Se first full hunt and bam! Its silver time!!!!!

Well the ground now is starting to thaw...was able to dig about four inches down.... Decided the first full hunt would be with the Se... The dfx stayed home today.... I wanted to try to remember some of the tones and readings from the air tests I had run... It was a three hour hunt...around $3 in clad...usually with dfx the clad amounts for three hours are usually double that....but right near end of hunt....the Se began its attack got a strong 3/28 reading....which sounded like the silver I air tested...but so did a quarter earlier which was not...

But as I dug in the rock gravel..there it was down around 2-3 inches....my first silver of year! :hot: A 43-d Merc...after 3 hours of tough hunting...I finally had a smile on my face....and headed to the car... Around $3 in clad, a Merc, and two game room tokens...and a little confidence built....

Looking forward to more of your posts and the SE...Finds...

Can"t ask for much better on a first hunt! Congrats on the Nice Merc Greg, Thats good for a Big Smile anyday...Looking forward to more from you ....

The only one I can pinpoint with for now...relied on the few digital readings I remembered..picked up on quarter tone and nickel tone... cents/junk still a little confused...

Thanks..it was actually my third hunt with Se, first full hunt (over 2 hours)....first since partial ground thaw.. thanks

hey gregg good job man...it only gets better man..silver is what the explorer does best

That first silver with a new machine is a good feeling.

I'm one up on you w/ the SE -- found a '52 Rosie Sunday to go along w/ the '35 Merc earlier. But who's counting. (To be fair, I think I've had warmer weather.) Also had a Merc and my first SLQ w/ the Sov this year too. But for some reason I suspect you're going to pass me.

maybe not on the silver...but clad wise...I expect a ton...last year over 11,000 coins... I will be happy with 15-25 silvers....

WTG Gregg. I picked up some silver the other day in a REALLY REALLY trashy mountain park. I also hunted in a supposedly hunted out park that had been cherry picked. I got a few dollars of clad... almost all were on their side. The explorer didnt think twice or react any different than it would have for a coin laying flat.

Congratulations on the first silver of the year Gregg. I think hunting season is open in Illinois.

Yes up to now I am shocked by the stability of the Se...I really like it and I am already used to the sounds...my pinpointing needs work! I am either dead center or almost the full size of the coil away!
