I always wondered what my gifts were. As a kid my home life wasn’t exactly great and I resorted to fishing at a pretty young age. I was given a BB gun at age 7 and spent my adolescent years outside to avoid the things going on inside my home. As time went on I started fishing a small river near my home and found a deer skull and then found a love for deer and shed hunting. Then around age 28 my buddy found a butterfly banner stone and I fell in love with Native American artifacts. So I started looking for artifacts every chance I got. A few years later a guy I worked with started showing me his detecting finds. So I begged him to teach me how to detect and he taught me everything he knew. I always told people I lived for the thrill of the find and I truly did. I accepted the lord into my life around age 12 but never grew in him. I had a pastor tell me my gift was Gods great outdoors and that I should be taking and teaching people the things I know and using that to teach them about Jesus. So fast forward a few more years and I’m now 42 years old. I literally have people asking me all the time about the things I find and its something I can’t ignore anymore. The Lord wants to use me and it’s a beautiful thing. I never thought God would want me to use what I love for his glory but here we are. I’m now working on putting everything together to talk to youth groups and assisted living homes. I’m now looking to help Jesus save his lost treasures which are people. I plan to start taking the things I have found to different places so that it will spark conversations so that I can help Jesus save lives. It’s amazing how God molds throughout the years so that he can use us for his glory. Have blessed Easter everyone. The picture is from a site I detected last week.
