Salisbury Beach Update

Black Davy

New member
I was traveling for work out in the Peabody Ma area and brought the Diver along. I was able to hit Salisbury Beach at the Arcades for a hours search at low tide. The beach was in pretty good condition alot of sand has been stripped away. I only had a hour, my first swing landed me a dime. It has been there a while as I could not read the date. I worked a 40 x 40 area and never got another good target. I did dig up about 30 pieces of wire and nuts that kept me busy. I plan on getting back out there after Christmas weather permiting as the targets are now visible again.

There was about 2 to 3' of the steel showing all the concrete was visible. There is a very deep cut of sand about a 3' drop. The dime was a older piece definatly not a new one. The ships skeleton is really visible. The trash I was digging is similar to junk I have dug in the past when it was not sanded in.

THEN YOU REALLY GET TO THE GOOD TARGETS.IF THERE WAS TRUELY A LOT OF SAND MOVED YOU SHOULD BE PULLING LOTS OF COIN! LIKE MANY DIMES,QUARTERS AND NICKLES WITH THE OCCASIONAL SILVER COIN MIXED IN. A 3FT CUT IS SMALL BEANS THE BEACH HAS 20FT OF NEW FILLED IN SAND (SOFT SAND) SINCE THE BIG STORM WE HAD IN MAY! I'M SURE JAMES WILL SECOND THAT ONE!! WE NEED SOME BIG WAVES AND WIND TO REALLY GET SOME GOOD HUNTING.

I think we are going to need one very windy storm (or a couple of them) for the sand to get moving enough to find the good stuff. Unfortuantely it looks like the rest of the week is going to be very calm.

Hoping that January is better than December because I'm starting to get cabin fever!!!

You would know better than me I have only been out to hunt in the colder months probably after its sanded in. Thanks for that info.
