A bit of a road trip and naturally I made time for a few hunts. The stuff at the top of photo one was a few hours at a modern elementary school. Nothing special. The stuff at the bottom is from a really old country school I always stop at when I pass it. I'd drive out of my way to pass it too! Last time there I was skunked for silver but got about a dozen wheats. Yesterday the ground conditions and weather were perfect for detecting! Best stuff was four wheaties, three silver dimes, and a really special sterling crucifix. The crucifix is from Lourdes as the photo shows. It is one of my new favorite finds!
Back to an old thought. I was hot, tired, and thirsty. Did the old one more find drill. I was steps away from my truck and said screw it I'm done. My detector had other ideas and sang out. Signal between dime and quarter at 6 inches. Dug down and got the 1939 merc. I have been having a lot of luck with my final finds of the day this year.
Celebrate America's independence! Be safe. Buckle up to at least save yourself the aggravation I put myself through on Memorial Day. All sorts or ridiculous road blocks around here this weekend. I have an opinion here but that is for another forum.

The old paper towel is still around but it's piled with other coins so you get a break this hunt. I'm going to retire her at the end of this month.
