River finds today...

Between the high temperatures and drought, I picked a good time to try detecting in rivers.
This is my forth trip so far and even though it is tiring, at least can keep on detecting and stay cool.
There was an old ferry crossing in this section of the river and of course many folks swim, tube, and fish there now.
There is not date left at all on the large cent, but in looking a certain details on the back it dates from 1796-1807.
When I first found it, I thought due the size it was a Modern dollar coin, but eventually could tell it was something much older.
This section has given up quite a few quarters too (3, and I am sure there are many more that I am missing because of deeper water and grass covering much of the bottom in many places.
As you can see, I also found 2 pounds of lead weights and am building up quite a collection of them....LOL!

Too hot for me. Besides the prices to access the river, too many Weird-O's make it not worth me trying.

I have no idea how that face showed up, but it should have read “38” quarters.
The oldest so far is 1965… I’m getting close to silver.

Nice should be some old silver there keep hitting that spot I keep going back to my river spot and always seem to pull some coins its the only
spot I've ever hunted and found way more silver than copper thats what blows me away!
