Revolutionary war scabbard!

Boy it was darn cold out sat -2 in my car!
But spring returned Sunday and a friend and I went out in the woods behind a 1700’s home where recently a GW button was recovered.
I had a few pennies and it was not looking to promising a spot when I had a 90 on the 900
I thought here’s a silver to my surprise it was a scabbard! Apparently looks like an English revolutionary war period from the photo .
it was only a few inches deep glad I did not hit it with my shovel!!!

Nice find . Wish we had the history out here in Utah you have. This is one of those long winters that is lingering on with hardly a break between storms. I joined a prospecting club so working indoors panning gold from paydirt that I buy through the cub with my found money last year. So having a little fun.
