After finding several old coins at an 1872 church last year I decided to do some research on the area. I soon discovered that a one room schoolhouse from the same time frame was located across the road from the church. The school was last used in 1920 and the area is now grown over and wooded. I decided to wait until this winter after a couple snowfalls so the foliage would be down and easier to hunt. I went looking for schoolhouse today with the 6.5 "football" coil on the F75. After getting into the site I soon found that the old well pump was still standing and this confirmed I was at the right spot. There were foundation stones about 40 feet from the pump and although they were mostly covered I could tell the building measured about 30 ft X 25 ft. I soon began finding coins and relics around the area. The coins were only about 5 inches deep and the 6.5 coil had no problem locating them. I decided to hunt in All Metal and dig anything that read 30 or higher. The gold ring is labeled 14 K and gave a mid 50's reading. The Barber Quarter gave a loud 84-86 reading. The shield item is the badge off of a crank type wall phone and dates from the 1920's. It was nice hunting conditions today, the temperature was in the 40's, all the snow was gone and the ground was moist and unfrozen.....Thanks for looking
