removing coin counter due to a lot of questioning..

probably sometime in July....I don't want to be questioned all the time. I like the counter myself and believe me I think anyone who lives in an area with a lot of parks that are busy could do the same thing. i have received responses about people living in small towns maybe finding a bullet or some rusted metal once in a while completely not understanding!!

It would always keep me busy trying to think of all the productive site I could find.

I hope you continue it and ignore the few who negatively question.

Remember, this is a hobby of enjoyment!

HH

Thanks maybe I will never find a relic or a old button, buckle or a civil war bullet, i will not insult those who do. I know they are great finds but not to be found in my area! Sure it would be nice! So if clad is all I find I think it is reasonable to expect the same from those who have said the clad is worthtless! Do not want to carry this post on any longer...I hope I have proved my finds with pictures. If anyone is interested in seeing some of the rings i found I posted a fewpics on the whites home forum today thanks everyone for the mainly positive feedback...always one in the group!!!

Greg I agree that you should do what you want. I don't know who questioned your finds so I don't know if they were serious or just putting you on. I was going to update my website and noticed I had found 5645 coins by Nov. 28th of last year, for a total of $404.63. This was close to what your goal is.

The truth is most of the older guys in the hobby just aren't interested in clad counts. I did it for the fun of it last year. By the end of the year I got bored with denomination count and was only keeping the total. This year all I do is total the receipts from the bank when I cash in. I've been detecting since 1999 and I don't get the same thrill from finding a quarter like I used to.

Now I would rather find a few more gold rings or interesting relics. Did you ever notice a new guy will post his finds for a hunt and it's $2.25 in clad. He's happy and he should be. Then after a while guys only post their rare or good finds. There are two detecting GURUS who's opinions and advise I totally respect and I have never seen them post one single find. Maybe they did at one time, but remember they were detecting before the internet, and I guess after 40 years of detecting they have seen it all. I also notice while giving advise they have never belittled me or others.

With that said here is my clad from 3 hours of hunting the high school today.

Clad is really all I find. I am very happy you posted those finds I know it takes some motivation to get a nice pile like that. I don't mean to sound insulting to anyone....but also some people are so out of shape they can only dig a few holes in a few hours and are done. I dig a set amount each week time wise and I am not going to pretend I find things. So you are stuck with my clad pictures for now! I think because people like you never post your great clad hunts those that come home with $1.20 all the time think because I am the only one posting that no one else is finding clad.

I post on 4 forums probably got feedback from over 50 people easy! All were positive except 1 or 2 here...the reason you don't see it because I kind of fell into this person's little trap and responded! The posts were removed! i am glad they were removed from the whites general forum! I like having the coin counter and now feel caught in the middle....it did bring to much attention my way but surprisingly a lot of people said they feed off it and use it for motivation! Kind of the way I am looking at your 3 hour pile of clad right now! Great hunt!:clapping:

You hit it right on the head....others are jealous. Hate it for 'em. You have a nice pile and it just makes me want to get out there more so I can pass your *ss....:clapping: I wouldn't sweat it, though....I just went over 1,300 coins. I'll be keeping an eye on your counter. :super: Happy hunting and good luck.
