Recovery speed tests...waste of time??

i keep reading on different sites/forums and from videos ive watched that the newer minelab machines have faster recovery speeds than say the older explorer xs, explorer 11 etc.
why isn't there a video from minelab them self proving these new speeds by say showing a controlled setup test bed with different machines in use so you can see these new differences. i have read a lot of comment from people that have kept upgrading with these machines that they can't really notice any difference in recovery speeds.

I'm not saying minelab aren't true to there word about their improvments or anything like that but anyone who is pulling out a lot of money out off there pocket each time to upgrade to the latest model would like peace of mind before doing so.
i no they have added some new features to the newer se, e-trac models that a lot of people seem to like but have they really improved the recovery speeds. without showing these improvments in controlled tests you can't really prove it.

I'd say in some respects my Explorers had a slower recovery speed than my GT. It takes time for the VDI on the Explorer to respond. Often you'll be far past the target before the VDI finaly decides where it wants to place the target in the crosshairs. The meter on the GT seems to react as quickly as the audio, while on the Explorer it seems the VDI lags behind it's audio. I'm guessing this is due to software lag as it takes the machine time to process the signal and adjust the display accordingly.
