recovery sluices

I got one of these about a year ago http://www.goldcube.net/ and since then I have sold my blue bowl and my black majic slucie. The Gold cube works faster for me.

Stick to a few gold pans and your in the money for a lot less.

The concept of the Black Magic recovery sluice is taken from the Miller Table. The flat textured surface of the mat along with the proper pitch and water flow (if I got the right info) is the same as the Miller Table. Of course, we all know, the first and last thing used in discovering/recovering gold is the gold pan - but the gold pan can get real tedious when having lots of blacks to run from dredge or sluice box. I'm happy with this Black Magic for now. It's as fast as a wheel but that's still kinda slow.

Here is a low cost alternative, won't replace the Miller table or blue bowl, but works well. It is the bucket sluice from California Sluice Co., http://www.casluicebox.com/CONCENTRATOR.html. I run my sluice concentrates through the bucket sluice then finish in my blue bowl.

Riffles? I don't think riffles are comparable to a flat mat type recovery sluice. To many blacks to deal with after running material. With the Black Magic sluice and the flat mat gold can be recovered easily with sucker bottle as it is freed from the blacks. After using this sluice I put the tailings thru a 60 mess screen and ran it again. There was very little gold and not really worth the second run. However, I was able to recover that fine gold but could hardly see it and there wasn't much.

Tom,

I read a review of the Gold Magic on Chris Ghoulsons Arizona Outback website under equpment reviews.. The reviewer seemed to think the Gold Magic pan will actually work to Dry pan? Have you ever tried this?
