Thought about picking up a copy of "New Successful Coin Hunting"...Can't seem to find the most recent revised version though. Only 2003's..and I think the most recent is 2007.

Yup. Jusy bought a copy from Garrett over the phone. I read some reviews on the book and some were saying that Mr.Garrett mostly over-promotes his own brands and does'nt mention any competitors detectors. Well.....yeah!!! It's his book...he wrote it...he can promote his products until he's blue in the face. Why would'nt he? His products work !!

I read a book printed in 1980 or sometime in that era by: Peggy Hardigree Strike it Rich! Treasure Hunting with Metal Detectors. It was old but had a lot of good info in it, also. Interlibrary loan.
