There are parts of NY that won't see the grass till July! 
That's when I hope to hunt the regular sites I go to with permission, Grand Gorge, Gilboa, where I dug that nice flowing hair or Drapted Bust as they are called, 1804 half cent, Watsonville, where I dug my first musket ball, and Scohairie, where I dug a Flying eagle cent 1857... Hoping to get to go to the Mohawk Vally with a friend up near Herkimer NY, there the grass is visiable till late June, July... Good point though...
