Re; Gold Bug PRO and Bottle caps..........

I agree with you, Neil, but I think I know my machines quite well.

The MF units do better indeed, but they're not perfect.

To make it clear, I ordered a GB today. It has features that are important to me than the bottlecap issue.

I still do not understand why some detectors do better than others regarding the bottleaps (and washers, and large iron), worse, why "cheap" metal detectors do sometimes better than more expensive ones. The desing for golg nuggets hunting? Don't think so (might be wrong), because the garret GTA was NOT and dit it, my VLF/TR has about the same frequency as the GB, and is also very hit on tiny jewelry, and does reject them clearly.

But OK, it must be part of the game, there is nothing such as a "perfect detector", and as far as I will have fun and find stuff with the GB, it's OK for me.

I didnt mean the multi freqs do better, those are just the ones I use the most and know how well they do. I had a G2 for a short while and while I was fooled by some bottle caps you can see the meter jumping all over on them also, at least those with some corrosion.
Your right none are perfect, gotta get what best serves you. Im gonna be ordering a Gold Bug soon myself.
