Kind of a on off thunderstorm day here in Pennsylvania. After wetting my appetite on a trip to Bloomsburg yesterday seeing a million spots i wanted to dig I had to get some swings in today. Glad I did I got my second silver quarter ever.

This was the only other silver quarter I have found in 8 months of swinging same site but 40 yards away seams like it's burnt 🔥? It has little pimples all over it. I think this one is dated 1927
I found a barber dime like that a few years ago… not sure what caused it.
I agree with you on the date…if not for the damage, I bet that coin would have had little wear since the date is so legible.

Finding Standing Liberty Quarters as your first two silver quarters ever is very nice. They just don't show up that often. Nice finds!
 
The dimpling most likely is the metal reacting with the ground being fertilized.
Good find in the SLQ!!!!!
