Question On The Excelerator Coils

Mxt Sniper said:
I use Detech coils and find they are generally better than oe whites coils of same general coil size. Even Whites sells their new TDI with a aftermarket Miner John coil and its way better than their own TDI coils on that machine. I find the 3x6 very lacking, as well as the 6x9 I get poor performance from that one in my area. I find that nothing beats my Detech 8x6 in ghost town conditions for seperating the iron from coins. I do like the Whites 5.3 eclipse its a great performer on the MXT, and the 950 I like ok for a large coil, but I have little use for large coils on a vlf. I use the 4.5DD excellerator for nugget detecting and find that it is much better than the 3x6 for that. I can detect a 2 grain nugget to 3" with the mxt/4.5dd combo. And that is in alkali soils.

One thing to note is that I bought those coils in the first year of production +/- , But since then I use detech coils more and more and they seem to have an edge over most other coils. My favourite being the 14x10.
