Question on pinpoint on ace 250

you can detune the pinpoint mode by pushing the pinpoint several times while near the target too, I dont think its auto detune. You can lose the signal if directly over the target when doing this. The ace is very good on pinpointing though and one nice detector:))

Hey, all I know is what I experienced. And I even double checked the other day at the beach. If sensitivity is maxxed out, I can't pinpoint to closer than about 8 inches. If I turn down sensitivity to 1-2 bars, I can pinpoint almost exactly. So, my conclusion is that the sensitivity setting does affect pinpointing -- what other conclusion can I draw? Sensitivity max, I ping on a circle about 8" diameter, sensitivity min and I can pinpoint to a pin point. And yes, I've noticed the detuning depending on how many times I hit the pinpoint button, and use that sometimes. But I do know the sensitivity setting does affect my pinpointing ability.

Sorry if it doesn't work that way for you -- but then again it leaves more for me to find!
