Question on one of Garrett's machine

Garrett Sea Hunter Mark II. Thinking about one for the near future.
This way for the wet beaches in Maine or Florida I'll be covered.
Just got back from Maine and the beaches were wet all day, so I didn't even take the Ace 250 out of the car.
Any opinion on them ?

Thank guys

Happy Hunting
Bruce

Great machine. They are deep and are chain magnets. I got my son one put it together and he has'nt used it one time. I put it back in the box he's into civil-war relics now so I may sell it. Mine has found a lot of stuff. You won't be disappointed with the Mark 11. HH

After much thought, I finally decided on the SHM2. I left out the Tesoro because of problems with falsing on my Stingray, besides they have customer service issues. I quickly cast out the Minelab, their customer service is in disarray and their new digs will take time to get things together. And they are expensive to buy and repair. The CZ was too expensive also as was the IntinLS. That left me with the Garrett SHM2 and the White's Surf PI Pro. The Surf PI has a good rep and is a good detector but this is what sold me on the Garrett:
Coil exchange by owner
Headphone exchange by owner
Separate battery compartment that will not leak into the main unit
Discrim mode, although don't count on this like a VLF
Top flight customer service at very reasonable rates with repairman that have long years with the Garrett family
Performance that rivals the Excal2, as told to me by SHM2 users
4 diff mounting positions, including the means to waist mount
My Florida beaches are not mineralized per se but are full of tabs

Up until the last minute I wasn't sure between the White's and Garrett but I thought that the above reasons were good enough to make my decision. I hope that helps, realize though I haven't used another water detector other than an ancient Stingray. BTW, where in Fl will you hunt?

I like the "turn on and go" sea hunter II. It's nice to go hunting with a machine that you don't have to adjust all the time ( at all really ). I use very low discrimination pretty much just to silence out the wave noises. Trashy areas are a pain with this detector. I hunted for two hours at a lake today and all i got was junk ( you really shouldn't detect on a old rock'n roll festival swimming area ). Oh man those bottletops and nails, and screws... I love this detector!
