Question on Discrimination/ all metal settings on V3

Hi all,

I'm Bart , living in the Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland) and I've recently bought my first digital detector which is the V3...
I do have a couple of analogue detectors as well, so I found it pretty challenging to familiarise with the V3.

I allready found some nice coins, relics and so with the V3, but that was all in "turn on and go programs " but now I want to get into the machine a bit deeper....

Because I think the manual is a bit brief to cover all of the V3's features I was wondering how the disc and all metal settings on the V3 work.
What I mean is that if you select a certain program, the red part of the beam at the bottom of the screen shows the rejected VDI's, while the green part shows the accepted numbers.

So how do the disc and all metal settings in your sensitivity box actually work then, when you allready reject certain VDI's, is it selection of size then?

And if you set up a program which accepts all VDI's what can you do with the disc and all metal settings then?

I'think I've found a usefull info resource by getting on this forum and certainly will drop more questions in the near future. Hopefully some of you guys are willing to answer my questions.....

Thanks in advance!

Bart.

"So how do the disc and all metal settings in your sensitivity box actually work then, when you allready reject certain VDI's, is it selection of size then?"

If you are hunting in disc mode...meaning under SEARCH AUDIO you have it selected in "disc" mode....the sensitivity to the all metal setting only adjusts the strength of the machine when you pull the trigger to pinpoint.

If you are hunting in all metal mode...under SEARCH AUDIO you have all metal selected....then the "all metal" sensitivity will regulate how sensitive (deep) the all metal mode SEARCH mode will be.

So in other words, if you are just using factory settings...the only thing the all metal sensitivity will do if you up it, is make the pinpointing mode more sensitive or (if you lower it) less sensitive.
