Question: Gold Bug SE / Pro default setting in AM mode

BH_Landstar_

Hi all,

I'm looking to find out what the default setting is for those that have the SE / Pro with the unit in the All Metal Mode.

The Ground Balance setting is the one I am looking at / looking for info on and what version of software / firmware is in said unit.

So, when you first turn it on in All Metal Mode, what is the default reading for the Ground Balance setting ?

And, what is the version (software / firmware) of said SE / Pro ?

Don't have one to test at the moment but I think BF is right without being able to see it.

Thanks, there are two reasons why I am asking this, so the more that can answer, the better.

I'll make one recommendation to FTP -- Get a 'New Techical Writer' as the manual is full of errors !

I just bought mine yesterday[SE]dont know how to tell what version software it has but in AM default gb is 82.9

With the SE in DISC mode, hold down the GG button and turn it on, it should say Golg 6u9 then a number.

Thanx BH Landstar,it says 29,is that what version it is?

Am I missing something here,or is there a problem with the 29 as apposed to the 2.9?? hh rick in mi.

Sorry Rick , i did not mean to confuse the issue .I was just joking.
Our 29ers are fine and dandy , take it for a spin in some iron and
you will be pleased. HH Mike

Wow dude you had me sweating bullets!!!! haha.Am planning a trip to Tenn.in feb.thought the SE would be a good compliment to my LTD.Cant wait to try this bug out!!!....hh rick in mi.

I am snowed in for a while so i was messing with the GBSE this mourning.
I found a nail under the carpet in sub floor and marked it the put a 1/2 reale on top [ smaller than a dime ]
Then from a Kieth S demo, i put a roll of tape over the reale as a spacer.
Then put a rusty cut nail on top of the roll of tape.
Making a iron sandwich of sorts
Now, no detector or coil combo could hit from all directions but the
GB could hit with better ID with 11 DD than F75 could with 5in DD
My CZ even with 5in concentric would not hit from any angle. Not fair for CZ as thy don't have any DD coils but tried anyway.
The GBs ID is so tight its scary.

Thats interesting(your showing symptoms of cabin fever!!!) I cant wait to compare my F75 to the GBSE, I to am snowed in for sometime now, thats wy i am heading south...hh rick in mi.

Rick if you got the 29 it is a hot one. My 29er seems a bit hotter than my G2. The G2 for some reason seems a bit more refined though.

After checking and to make it absolutely as seen on screen.

version is 29 not 2.9 and decimal default GB in AM is 82.9

Thanks to all those that replied.

The manual is indeed wrong then ! First Texas Products -- Please make sure you have all written material "PROOF READ" for correctness, as miss information confuses people !!!

Version 2 and mine starts up at 84.9 in disc and all metal!!!!
