Question for those who use shovels.....

We didn't care what you used nor was that the question... I hope you know I have my tongue in cheek here... :D

G..

I do have several Lesche shovels, incl. yours. The ones with ball at the end of handle are easy to hang on that mentioned belt loop for hammer, but I also found a way how to hang T-shaped handle version. Unfortunately I do not have it with me now - we are on a holiday on the Black sea coast and as I do only beach MDing I do not have this modified holder with me to shoot the picture... Just see the picture of a similar one I found at Sears:

All you have to do is take a pliers and turn those spring-riveted pieces that are facing each other to the upright position - it takes some effort, but when you're done you can easily hang your Lesche shovel both ways - on a T-handle or on a blade ;-)

BTW - when I was looking for a picture of that original holder I have discovered this site MedfordTools - have a look at the 2 holders in the very bottom line (models 5028 and 5032) - I am pretty sure that these will accomodate your Garrett/Minelab pinpointers easily ;-))))

The Raven is a awesome shovel! I use the Samson T-Handle for semi manicured yards because it cuts well and does not draw to much attention. For relic situations I use the Lesche 38d relic shovel that is very similar to the Raven. It is a heavy duty shovel that will flat dig a hole, cut down saplings with a single swing or kill a bear! lol I try to not take the 38d in manicured yards as it freaks people out when they see that thing. lol

I am lazy... I drag my shovels behind me. I have been known to stick them in the ground till I find a target then go back and get them to dig the target. lol

Carry mine with left hand, detect with right hand. Helps to keep right arm from getting more muscular than left!

I also have the raven for my deep woods ventures, I liked that it was somewhat open & not like a half circle shape...

id love to use a shovel like those but if i walked onto the city landscape with one im sure it would definitely draw some unwanted attention. im not sayin that those that use them dont refill everything and make it look pretty again ..im just sayin the people ive run into i had a hard time convincing them the regular lesche wasnt doin damage.... but it would save alot on the ole bod to use 1 of those for sure.
